A mid Essex hospice is inviting residents to don their Santa suits, hats and tinsel to do some festive fundraising this December.

Farleigh Hospice's 5k Santa Fun Run is set to take place on Sunday 5 December from 9.30am in Central Park, Chelmsford.

Debbie de Boltz, fundraising manager at Farleigh Hospice, said: "We are delighted that the Santa Fun Run has returned this year.

"Last year, we changed the event to a virtual 'Festive 5k' because of Covid-19.

"Even though everyone shared their photos on social media, we really did miss all of our Santas running through Central Park.

"All sponsorship money raised will go towards helping us to continue to provide care and support to those in our local community affected by life-limiting illness and bereavement.

"The route is suitable for all ages and abilities - you can run, jog or walk it.

"The most important thing is to get into the Christmas spirit, have some fun, and raise some money to help the hospice."

Entry is just £15 per adult and includes a free Santa suit.

Children can enter for just £5, and will receive a free Santa hat - children under 3 go free.

Dogs are also welcome, but must be kept on leads - there will be a competition for the best dressed dog on the day.

Register before 5pm on Thursday 2 December here here.

The event is wheelchair and pushchair friendly.

For those that can't make the event on the 5 December, Farleigh is offering a virtual option so that people can do the run on a date that suits them.

To participate virtually contact the Farleigh Hospice fundraising team on 01245 457411 or email [email protected].
