Three people critically injured in crash on Maldon bypass

THREE people have been left critically injured in a crash on the Maldon by-pass.

A baby in one of the vehicles has been taken to hospital as a precaution, while a woman in her twenties and a man and woman in their fifties all have life-threatening injuries.

Essex Police were called to the scene on the A414 shortly after 2.40pm today (Friday 7 August).

The accident involves a black Ford Kuga and a white Ford Transit van.

The road will remain closed for some time and road users are asked to avoid the area where possible and to expect delays.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who saw the crash, particularly those with dash cam footage.
