AFTER months of detailed and careful planning Maldon Film Club has opened its doors again at the Town Hall on Market Hill.

The club held a matinee and evening screening of Free Solo on Wednesday, 26 May and then on Tuesday, 8 June, when the selected film was Balloon.

John Salisbury, spokesman for Maldon Film Club, said: "Both films were very well received by those members who attended, all of whom are looking forward with eager anticipation to the start of the next season which, if all goes according to plan, will commence on Tuesday, 7 September 2021.

"I am delighted to confirm that the programme for our next season includes six films which were given Oscar, BAFTA or Golden Globe awards, six which received at least one Oscar nomination and a further nine covering a wide variety of themes from different regions of the world. The programme will be enjoyable, entertaining, wide ranging and diverse and as always there will be something for everybody."

For further details and an application form please check out the web site at the link here or visit the Maldon Visitor Information Centre at The Maeldune Centre on the High Street. Alternatively, phone 01621 869340 for membership enquiries.

John added: "On behalf of the committee I look forward to welcoming you to Maldon Film Club. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 01621 850250."
