Environmental Compliance Manager

We're looking for an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to play a key role in driving environmental best practice across a well-established and growing organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape compliance strategy, influence business decisions, and work closely with suppliers, customers, and senior leadership teams.

This role offers the chance to make a real impact by ensuring products, processes, and supply chains meet environmental and regulatory requirements while supporting the business's sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance activities across the business.
• Manage supplier due diligence and responsible sourcing programmes.
• Oversee FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody certification processes and audits.
• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental and product regulations.
• Act as the subject matter expert for environmental legislation and certification requirements.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, certification bodies, industry organisations, and regulatory authorities.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate compliance records.
• Develop policies, procedures, and training materials to drive compliance awareness throughout the business.
• Produce reports and updates for senior management and key stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging legislation and industry developments to ensure ongoing compliance.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, ESG, Responsible Sourcing, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing audits, certifications, and supplier compliance programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to influence and drive change across a business.
• Experience within timber, manufacturing, construction products, or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
• French language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
