Senior Analogue IC Design Engineer Location: Maldon, Essex (Hybrid Working Available) Salary: Up to £75,000 + Relocation Assistance + Visa Sponsorship Type: Permanent We're working with a highly innovative technology business based in Maldon, Essex, looking to appoint a Senior Analogue IC Design Engineer to join their growing New Product Engineering team. This is a hands-on design role focused on analogue and mixed-signal IC design for sub-6GHz applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated engineer who thrives on technically challenging projects and wants to contribute to the full lifecycle of high-performance integrated circuit design. The company can support relocation and visa sponsorship for the right candidate and offers hybrid working flexibility. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement analogue sub-circuits such as filters, VGAs, high-speed multiplexers, bandgaps, PTATs, TIAs, dividers, PLLs, and bias circuits.
  • Work with SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS technologies to develop high-performance IC solutions.
  • Perform verification and simulation, ensuring design targets are met.
  • Collaborate with the test team across multiple sites to define test plans and contribute to ASIC characterisation.
  • Produce high-quality design documentation for all developed blocks.
  • Ensure first-time-right silicon through rigorous design and validation practices.
  • Support product evaluation and improvement cycles post-silicon.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or related discipline, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on IC design experience.
  • Strong understanding of analogue and RF design principles including linearity, noise, mismatch, and stability.
  • Expertise in Cadence Virtuoso tools and version control systems.
  • Experience designing in SiGe Bipolar and CMOS processes.
  • Familiarity with IC layout techniques within Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Good understanding of design-for-manufacture principles.
  • Experience in ESD protection design.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
