A Service of Dedication for the new organ was held at St Mary's Church in Maldon on Sunday (20 June).

The Bishop of Bradwell led the service, bringing a project spanning more than 12 years to a ceremonial end, with many local dignitaries in attendance - and two of the organ builders themselves.

Colin Baldy, director of music at St Mary's - and director of the Maldon Festival - said: "The Dedication was a triumph.

"We're now looking forward to the opening recital this Friday, given by Daniel Moult and opening the Maldon Festival."

Mayor of Maldon, Councillor David Ogg, said: "The organ looks fantastic, sitting on its new gallery in the middle of the west wall.

"The choir sang the new Mass wonderfully.

"I'm really proud that we have both this fantastic organ and a fantastic choir here in Maldon."
