Maldon: District planning meeting next week looks at applications in the Prom and Park Drive

By The Editor 7th Sep 2021

A planning committee next week will look at two applications on council-owned land in the Prom and Park Drive.

Maldon District Council's (MDC) Central Area Planning Committee has a busy agenda for its meeting next Wednesday (2 June) evening which, as well as two private home extensions, includes:

-an application for Park Drive Fitness and Squash Club in

Park Drive, Maldon, for permission to install an all-weather cover to existing padel courts, proposed new show court and office/change area

-an application to convert and renovate an existing public seating shelter into a food serving kiosk.

Both of the above are on council-owned land and in both cases MDC planning officers have recommended approval - however, both applications will be decided on by councillors following a debate.

The meeting will be held face-to-face, but will be livestreamed and recorded. Anyone wishing to attend in person needs to register before midday on Tuesday, 1 June, due to coronavirus restrictions, using the form available at the link here.
