HEAVY traffic through Maldon and the surrounding areas is set to continue for another 10 days.

The closure of Market Hill in Maldon is expected to continue until Monday, 16 November.

The road has been closed to traffic since Monday (2 November) as essential work on underground gas pipes is carried out, including investigations to find damage. The work is being carried out by gas distribution network, Cadent.

The closure has caused significant traffic problems in and around the town and through Heybridge every morning and evening since the start of the works, as drivers attempt to negotiate alternative routes.
