Maldon MP John Whittingdale is encouraging residents to get their booster Covid jab when they are called to do so by the NHS.
In Mr Whittingdale's newsletter to residents for September, he said: "Constituents will shortly start to be called by the NHS to have their booster Covid vaccine.
"Studies have shown that, after six months, there is a decline in vaccine efficacy and with increasing levels of social mixing and close social contact expected during the winter, Covid-19 will circulate alongside other respiratory viruses, including seasonal flu.
"Getting a booster jab is therefore a priority and I would encourage all who have been called to have theirs to make sure they get their jab."
Tollesbury Pharmacy, at 12A East Street in Maldon, announced today that its vaccination centre is now offering appointments for Covid booster jabs.
Longfield Medical Centre, in the council's offices on Princes Road, is also offering booster vaccines.
Booster jabs will only be offered to residents at least six months after their second dose.
