Maldon's Museum in the Park reopens with a mix of old favourites and new exhibitions

THE Maldon Museum in the Park will be re-opening today (Saturday, 22 May).
The local history-filled attraction will open its doors at 1pm following a small opening ceremony - but visitors do need to make sure they book.
It will be open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as Bank Holiday Mondays from 1-4pm each day.
Until Covid restrictions are fully lifted, visitor groups of more than two adults must pre-book their visit. They can do this by messaging the Museum on Facebook or emailing them at [email protected] Visitors can also book tickets via the link: here

Social distancing, face masks and hand sanitizer stations will initially be continued.
The first full month after reopening will be free entry to everyone and then charges will be £2 per adult, with children under 18 having free entry as normal.
New exhibits for this year include:
-Transport of Yesteryear - including the Penny Farthing, Bentall's motor car and Bates of Maldon Cycle Co.-Maldon women - showcasing famous prominent Maldon women and their services to the town
-Charles G. Tait, 20th century local artist exhibit-An all new Stones, Bones and Old Pots exhibit
-And a new Reading Corner for visitors to sit and read local history books and folders from the archives Old favourites include:-1877 Merryweather Manual Fire Engine
-oo Gauge scale model of Maldon East Railway Station-Exhibit to 1940s living
-The Sadd Room complete with models of WW2 MTB landing craft and Thames barges
