Maldon's Limebrook u3a has revealed the calendar its members have created for 2022, with photos that capture the beauty of Essex.

You can view the photos for January to October in this article, and the photos for November and December here.

Graham Churchill is the interest group leader for photography at Limebrook u3a.

Each year, there is a project to create a calendar, which is made available to all members when finished.

The subject is decided early in the year and for 2022 it was "beautiful Essex".

All members are invited to submit up to three photographs for consideration for inclusion.

When all the submissions are gathered, they are sent to Phil Watkins, the chairman of the Maldon Camera Club, who selects the final twelve.

This year we had 57 entries.

The idea behind this is to encourage members of the group to use their skills with the camera to try and get one of their photographs included.

The coming year for Limebrook u3a starts on Friday, 14 January with Jane Gosling talking about Boom and Bust in Medieval Lavenham.

Guests are invited to join us at the West Maldon Community Centre (WMCC).

While you have your diary out, why not enter Friday, 11 February when Ray Clark will tell us about Radio Caroline and the True Story of the Boat that Rocked.

We also have two groups that are designed for our members who are on their own. They meet for lunches, coffees, and visits to places of interest. The Weekenders are friendly and welcoming and do not limit their activities to just Saturday and Sunday.

There are many other activities including History, Social Sciences, Art, Book Lovers, Poetry, Real Ale Group and Family History.

To learn more about these friendly groups, just search for Limebrook u3a.

This coming year, Limebrook will be celebrating our 10th anniversary and plans are being made to commemorate this landmark.

It is also the 40th anniversary of the founding of the u3a.

We want to make this a very special year and look forward to 2022.

We have had many new members joining throughout 2021, so if you are no longer in full-time employment and want to expand your social life and take up new interests, why not make a New Year's Resolution to learn more about Limebrook u3a.
