A proposal to alter the Tesco in Fullbridge has received the green light from Maldon District Council.

A click and collect pod, a Timpsons Dry Cleaners pod and a ramp to the rear of the store are now set to be installed at the Tesco Extra in Fullbridge, after district council planning officers approved the application.

A total of five click and collect bays were proposed as part of the application, along with a new road layout for customers to turn around.

There will be an overall loss of 22 parking spaces to make way for the changes at the store.

In a statement on their decision, officers said: "The proposal would not cause harm to the character or appearance of the area and, subject to the imposition of conditions, would not cause harm to the amenity of local residents.

"No objections are raised in relation to highway safety, parking provision and flood risk."

The town council had previously recommended approval of the application.
