Home builder Taylor Wimpey will launch the latest phase of its Maldon development tomorrow (Saturday, 28 November).

Handley Gardens, off Limebrook Way, is part of a new neighbourhood known overall as Limebrook Park.

The development follows a set design code, ensuring that each phase adheres to garden suburb principles set by the Government and Maldon District Council.

Once complete, it will bring approximately 1,000 homes to the area, as well as a local centre with potential for shops, restaurants and a pub and a primary school. There will also be two early years and childcare facilities, a large area set aside for business and commercial use and a wide range of green space with sports pitches and play areas.

Taylor Wimpey launched its first phase of homes in January 2019, using timber frame construction to cut the build time from 29 to 16 weeks. The latest phase brings a further 406 new homes to Maldon, with a selection of one-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses available.

Steven Fisher, Managing Director at FINC Architects, worked with Taylor Wimpey on proposals for the site.

He said: "Garden suburbs provide sustainable, integrated development.

"Here you are provided with everything you need in close proximity; schools, shops, places to work, places to live, places to have fun and open spaces are all accessible within easy walking distance, through verdant parks and streets."

Other key features include more space between plots, homes set back from the road to emphasise the green space and parking behind houses rather than in front. The development is also strategically located to make the most of local transport links such as the A12, with new public transport routes linking residents with Maldon's existing highlights including its coastline and country park.

Linda Dines, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey East London, said: "Handley Gardens is part of an exciting project to create a whole new community on the southern side of Maldon, with everything that residents need in easy reach.

"We know that people who live in Maldon tend to stay here because they love the area so much, and it's been great to meet so many local buyers since we launched. Our second phase gives even more people the chance to own their first home in Maldon, move back to the area to be closer to friends and family, or find out what Maldon has to offer for the first time."

Taylor Wimpey's Handley Gardens development is off Limebrook Way, Maldon, Essex, CM9 6FY. The second phase will launch on Saturday November 28th. The sales office is open on an appointment-only basis, with strict social distancing measures in place for the safety of customers

and staff.
