Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assault following a disturbance on Wantz Road in Maldon.

Police officers were called at around 5.25pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday 17 October) to reports of a disturbance on Wantz Road.

A 40-year-old man, from Maldon, and a 35-year-old man, from Silver End, were arrested on suspicion of common assault and a public order offence at the scene.

They are both currently in custody.

Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses following the incident.
