A week in the life a Maldon Community Champion

Maldon Mud Race are fortunate to be supported in their fundraising by a Maldon Community Champion, Rhiain Oakley, as part of Tesco's community project.
Tesco Maldon places huge importance on its Community Champions, who provide a link with a wide range of charities, community groups, schools, nurseries, care homes, clubs and associations in and around Maldon.
A Community Champion cares passionately about their community and local treasure Rhiain Oakley helps deliver that service in and around Maldon.
Community Champions are happy to help and have the know-how, resources and time to dedicate to customers, their colleagues and the wider community.
With expert knowledge of programmes such as Tesco Food Collections and Tesco Community Grants scheme, Tesco Community Champions help people to understand how to benefit from them. They assist with filling in grant application forms, or give contact information about charity partners.
Tesco Community Champions also manage a small community donation budget that can be used for financial support for community groups or events.
Rhiain Oakley is also the point of contact for charities and community groups wishing to visit the store for awareness days or to fundraise.
