The Marsh Road building remained alight from Friday until Saturday afternoon as fire crews worked through the night.

The fire is reported to have begun around 4pm on Friday January 24, before finally being extinguished at 2pm on Saturday January 25.

Crews from sixteen different stations attended the scene, including Maldon, Burnham, Basildon, Tiptree, Rayleigh Weir, Southend, Leigh, Rochford, Tillingham, Wickford, Harlow, Colchester, Clacton, Grays, Brentwood and Orsett.

At last update on Saturday, one crew remained on scene monitoring and dampening down any hotspots.

An investigation into the blaze will soon be carried out.

Thankfully, there are no reported injuries.
