CALLING all MALDON children. Essex County Fire and Rescue Service needs your help to design a home fire safety poster and is holding a half term colouring competition.

The Service is looking for the best home fire safety poster to share with the public to help keep everyone who lives, works and travels in Essex safe.

The winner will be picked after half term and their poster will be proudly displayed in their local fire station and shared on the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service website and social media channels for everyone to see.

In addition, the winner will also be invited to their local fire station as a guest of honour when it is safe to do so for a fire station tour and a chance to meet their local firefighters.

You can find the Service's best home fire safety advice on its Education Hub where the Education Team has filmed primary and secondary school lessons to help children while they are learning at home.

Visit essex-fire.gov.uk/education to watch safety lessons that the Education Team usually delivers in schools across Essex alongside Essex Police.

Email either a scan or a photo of your poster to: [email protected] with your child's name, age and address. The winner will be notified by email after half term.
