This week, Chelmer Radio launched its annual appeal for schoolchildren throughout the county to send in their Christmas carols, which will be played on air.

The Wickham Bishops-based radio station is already preparing for the run-up to Christmas, with the chance for local families to hear their children sing on the radio.

David Baker, CEO and host of the Daytimes show, told Nub News: "Every year, this proves really popular - for kids, parents, grandparents & friends hearing their local schools highlighted in our programming during December."

To get involved, contact Chelmer Radio via email, on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Next month, David Baker and BBC Essex's Matt Mackay are set to host Maldon's fireworks display at Promenade Park, on November 5.
