Plans have already been submitted by the school for a £3.15m two-storey sixth form centre to the west of the main school building.
These are currently with Chelmsford City Council's planning department for consideration. In the meantime the school has accepted the first of its year 12 sixth formers this month.
The purpose built sixth form block is set to be in place by September 2025 to accommodate up to 280 students.
The Beaulieu Park School is Essex's first 'All Through' school and the primary phase opened for reception students in September 2018 with the secondary phase opening in September 2019.
The school has now grown to provide 420 places for local children between four and eleven years old and 900 places for local children between 11 and 16 years old.
A statement said: "Creating a new sixth form with a high quality environment will provide a positive learning environment for pupils. The academy trust will be required to ensure that value for money is achieved and other funding conditions are met."
The build is being funded through s106 receipts from the Beaulieu housing development.
A statement added: "A sixth form at the Beaulieu Park School will bring the school in line with other secondary schools in the area, which already offer sixth form provision.
"Essex County Council is supportive of this outcome, as it further enhances the educational facilities offered as part of the school's 'all-through' provision and allows the investment of S.106 monies that are specifically earmarked for this purpose (and therefore cannot be spent on anything else)."
However Chelmsford Garden Community Council has raised issues over parking provision. In representations to the plans it said: "No details have been provided in relation to suitable parking provision for the school following the addition of the sixth form.
"At present the school car park is only used for some staff and as there is no drop off provision or other parking provision this has resulted in an adverse impact in the area with problems experienced with overflow parking into the car park at Beaulieu Square which is already very busy and will become busier once the health centre has been completed.
"The addition of the sixth form will result in additional members of staff for the school and it may be that the students may need to park in the area as well so it is important that there is appropriate parking provision provided together with drop off points for students.
"It is noted that one issue with the current car park is that it is accessed via a single track road and consideration could be given to make this a two way road to ease access issues"
