The family of a Heybridge woman who died from oesophageal cancer earlier this year will host a charity Christmas market on November 27.

'Christina's Legacy' was set up in memory of Christina Hunt, a beloved sister and aunt, who died in May aged 42.

The Christmas event, organised by Christina's family, will take place on the King George V Playing Field, next to Plantation Hall, Heybridge, from 11am until 4pm.

Christina's Legacy aims to provide care packages for those suffering from cancer, and to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The family hopes to hold three large-scale annual events to help support the cancer charity.

Kye Challis, Christina's nephew, told Nub News: "We've been very busy, working to get everything sorted."

Organisers plan to offer a wide variety of different stalls, including Christmas food "for the kids", tombola, Santa's Grotto and more.

Kye continued: "We've got the ball rolling to pull off a really spectacular event!"

Popular children's characters are expected to join the fun with 'meet and greets'. The Maldon Grinch is also set to take part.

In addition, the family hopes the market will feature a stage with live entertainment.
