A Christmas market will be held at a popular Maldon pub on Saturday (5 December) in a bid to help some local traders who have missed out so far this year - and to raise money towards the defibrillator for outside the premises.

The Queen Victoria pub, in Spital Road, will use its marquee for the event that will see some of those sellers who have missed out because of the widespread cancellations of the usual festive markets and fayres.

Social distancing and Covid-safe measures will be in place and while booking is not required, numbers in the marquee will be controlled.

Landlord James Burrell-Cook said: "Maldon Men's Shed have kindly donated lots of items to help raise money for the community defibrillator which will go on the outside of the pub."

The market will run from 11am to 6pm.

The Queen Victoria will be running other Christmas events. Be sure to look out for more details soon - and for other local Christmas shopping and events news - in Maldon Nub News.
