Construction on West Maldon Skatepark begins this week

Construction will begin this week on the new skatepark at West Maldon Community Centre.
After a public survey of skatepark users and community meetings, construction will soon start to bring Bendcrete's 'Option A' Skatepark to life.
The Skateparks Project will see a complete overhaul and upgrade of the skateparks in Promenade Park in Maldon and Riverside Park in Burnham-on-Crouch, as well as the brand new skatepark at West Maldon Community Centre.

In a statement in December, Leader of Maldon District Council Councillor Richard Siddal said he was "delighted" the project would be moving forward, hoping that the improved facilities would provide a "fantastic space for skatepark users to enjoy and develop their skills."
Construction of all three of the skateparks are expected to be completed by August 2025.
The work is supported by the council's Section 106 Youth Facilities Programme.
