Essex Police officer arrested and charged. He is supended from duty but won't appear for trial until November 2026

A SERVING Essex Police officer from Hadleigh has appeared in court charged with coercive and controlling behaviour.

He has been suspended from duty and though he is due again to appear at Ipsoiech Crown Court in May, his full trial is scheduled for 16 November 2026!

PC Ian Bell, 45, was arrested in January in connection with alleged offences between 2017 and 2024.

He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on 20 March and is next due to appear at the same court on 28 May.

PC Bell is currently suspended from duty.
