Entries are open for Essex Wildlife Trust's challenge, 30 Days Wild, which hopes to help the whole country reconnect with nature this June.

To mark the challenge's eighth year, Essex Wildlife Trust is encouraging the people of Essex to 'go wild', by going outside and doing one 'Random Act of Wildness' every day next month.

"Whatever you choose, it will benefit nature, and it will benefit you."

Bailey Tait, Campaigns Officer for the Trust, said: "Whether you take part as an individual, family, or organisation, this challenge is proven to improve your physical and mental health, and help our environment along the way.

"Visit a new nature reserve, learn about the different butterflies that flitter among your garden plants, or take thirty minutes each day to get fresh air away from our busy lives.

"Whatever you choose, it will benefit nature, and it will benefit you."

Activities can include anything inspired by nature, such as creating wild art, listening to a nature podcast, or visiting a local nature reserve.

Carrying out a daily Random Act of Wildness can have a positive impact on local wildlife, but also benefits those taking part.

Research conducted by the University of Derby showed taking part made participants feel happier, healthier, and more connected with nature.

Sign up here for 30 Days Wild, to receive a free pack filled with tips, activities, how-to guides, and inspiration to help you make the most of the challenge.

Share your activities by tagging #30DayWild and Essex Wildlife Trust on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
