A health and wellness coach from Burnham-on-Crouch has restarted her indoor fitness classes dedicated to the physical and mental wellbeing of women in the district.

Leanne Noble first launched her mum's fitness classes three-and-a-half years ago, around six months after having her first child, but had to pause them when she had a second child and also due to Covid.

She restarted the sessions last Thursday (3 March).

"I was speaking to a few mums recently who were saying that they weren't getting out, they hadn't got anywhere to go with the kids and they wanted to get healthier," the mum-of-two said.

"I decided that now would be a good time to restart the classes, so I put a poll out to get it started.

"It means that mums can keep fit and bring their kids along instead of having to find a babysitter or going out in the evening when their other half gets home."

The classes, Leanne says, allow local mums to "come out, keep fit and not have to stress about childcare".

The sessions take place every Thursday at 10am at Bistro on the Quay Studios, in Burnham-on-Crouch, and cost £4 per class.

The classes aim to aid recovery from childbirth and improve fitness, strength and tone as well as encouraging participants to have fun.

They also provide space for the mums to talk about their experiences with childbirth and parenthood.

"There's no judgement - anyone can come, it's a pretty easygoing class," Leanne said.

"In our most recent session we were talking about recovery from C-sections.

"I didn't have a C-section, so other mums spoke about how they have recovered and then they all got talking about their own stories which I think helps - it helped me when I had my little one and we were going out to places.

"You can get a feel that the recovery was normal or wasn't quite normal and it's best to get it checked out."

The venue, Leanne adds, is safe and secure for children, who are welcome to come along.

"I try to adapt it for everyone. Kids are fully welcome and mine is normally running around causing absolute havoc.

"Anyone can come. It's open to whoever."
