Holloway Road is flooding

Holloway Road residents are fighting to keep flood water from their homes this morning (Friday, 4 December).

People living at the end of the street closes to the Langford roundabout and opposite the new Bellway housing estate woke at around 6.30am to find water gushing from the culvert and ditch.

Residents - who last saw flooding to the road around four years ago - are using sandbags to block the flow from the front of their drives.

Traffic should avoid the area as each passing vehicle causes the water to momentarily rise, threatening to breach the sandbag barricade - and residents are now using their vehicles to try to block the road.

Reports are currently coming through of flooding to other areas of Maldon, including by the roundabout close to Morrison's supermarket.
