HEYBRIDGE Parish Council has elected a Chairman and Deputy Chairman for the new municipal year.

At the parish's Annual Statutory Meeting last night (Monday, 17 May) at Plantation Hall it was decided that Councillor Richard Perry would continue in the role.

Councillor Chrisy Morris was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the council at the meeting.

It was the parish council's first face-to-face meeting since the start of the pandemic.

The decision on the charity of the year was deferred to carry out more research into possible organisations, with Cllr Morris planning to pursue the idea of sponsoring a local youth boxing club.
