ONLY one nomination was received for the vacant seat on Heybridge Parish Council - meaning the candidate is automatically elected to office.

Maldon district resident Mark Salisbury has now been declared as the "duly elected" parish councillor for the Heybridge East ward seat by the Returning Officer. Mr Salisbury had been nominated for election as an Independent candidate.

It should be pointed out that this seat is completely separate from Heybridge East Ward seat on Maldon District Council, for which there are five candidates.

Full lists of candidates in the Thursday, 6 May local elections are now available on the Maldon District Council website at the link here.

Maldon Nub News will bring you more details of all the candidates in all the 6 May local elections in the district in our ongoing election coverage.
