A Maldon care home resident had her festive wish come true with extras thrown in after saying that all she wanted for Christmas was a magazine.
Iris, who lives in Hayley House, was asked to write down what she would like as a festive gift as part Maldon Tesco Extra's Christmas Wishingtree project.
The 91-year-old had written on the note that was hung from the Tesco tree that she would like a copy of Hello Magazine.
The request was passed on to Hello Magazine who responded by not only sending Iris a free copy, but also a whole host of goodies to bring Iris some festive cheer in a year that has been tough for care home residents and their staff.
Tesco Community Champion Rhiain Oakley went along to present the gifts to the home and said: "Iris loved getting her magazine and gifts. Hopefully she will be featured in Hello Magazine herself next week."
Other care homes around the district that took part in the Wishingtree scheme also got visits from Rhiain bearing Christmas gifts to fulfil the wishes hung on the Tesco tree.
The care homes included included Hayley House, Brewster, Longfields, Squeaks, Swan, Firstlings and Boucherne.
