Items stolen in Maldon Cemetery break in

Several pieces of equipment were stolen from Maldon Cemetery last night.

The council announced the news on social media today.

The post reads: "We are sad to announce that there was a break in at Maldon Cemetery overnight on Monday May 5.

"Various pieces of equipment, including leaf blowers, hedge cutters, and angle grinders, were stolen during this incident.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Maldon Cemetery on the night of the incident to contact Essex Police - Maldon District on 101 if they have any CCTV footage or information that may assist with their investigations."

They have urged residents to use the crime reference number SP-50227-25-4242-04 when contacting Essex Police.

Maldon Cemetery is the largest of the cemeteries owned and run by the Council.
