Essex Police took to Facebook today to celebrate a recent drug bust, in which they discovered a 'large cannabis grow'.

The Maldon Town Team discovered the 'large cannabis grow' at a unit in the Latchingdon area.

One individual has been arrested and charged on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

The individual will be presented to Magistrates Saturday morning (January 6) to face the charge.

Sergeant Dalbs of the Maldon Town Team said: "This is yet another excellent result by the team, who work tirelessly and diligently to disrupt organised crime in the Maldon District."

He adds: "Whilst some people think that cannabis is a low-level drug, there are exploitation and modern-day slavery concerns that all feed into the bigger picture of criminality and organised crime.

"We will continue to target and disrupt these individuals at every opportunity."

Maldon Nub News has reached out to Essex Police for further information.

In November, Essex Police discovered more than 400 cannabis plants at a property in St Lawrence.
