A scheme offering up to £1,000 to groups, clubs and organisations based in Maldon district for projects supporting physical and mental health will close to applications on Friday, 26 March.

Applying is simple and through an online form.

The Maldon District Livewell Partnership is providing the money for local services and projects that are engaging, accessible and meet the needs of residents in:

• tackling obesity and promoting physical activity

• tackling social isolation and supporting older people's health

• supporting mental health

A spokesperson for the partnership said: We know we have difficult weeks ahead but with vaccines now being rolled out at speed we continue to look towards the future and hope we can start to recover as a community.

"We are keen to support the continuation of projects that have been delivered digitally throughout the pandemic.

"Similarly, we will support community-based activities that are permitted under restriction exemptions and that are delivered in a Covid-secure way.

"Casting an eye towards the future, we are also keen to fund projects that will support community recovery activity."

You can be considered for support from the grant scheme if you are a:

• voluntary or community organisation

• registered charity

• constituted group or club

• not-for-profit company or Community Interest Company (CIC).

If your project is approved, the partnership will be looking for you to start it in mid-May 2021.
