Independent Kevin Lagan has announced he is to stand for the Maldon division seat on Essex County Council in the local elections on Thursday, 6 May.

Kevin is a serving councillor on both Maldon Town Council and Maldon District Council.

He said: "I was born and raised in Maldon, and live in the town with my family. After being elected to Maldon District Council in May 2019, I have decided to also stand as a candidate for the Essex County Council elections.

"As a straight talking independent (and free thinking councillor), I would be honoured to represent you at county level. By being non-political, my views are always based on what's best on the issues in hand and not political agendas.

"I can never promise to get everything we need in our district, but I am committed to standing for what we need and what's right."

Kevin's Key Issues:

  • Fairness for all
  • Maintenance and access to council services
  • Visible police services
  • Supporting developing accessible medical services
  • Tourism and protection of our beautiful district, its environment and heritage
  • Providing the right blend of housing and opposing over development
  • Quality accessible education for children and adults.

Nub News will be bringing you news of all the candidates, both independent and from all political parties, as and when the information becomes available over the coming days.
