Following their previous success and the start of their new season, Maldon and Tiptree FC have announced another collection for Maldon Food Pantry on Monday 29 August.

In association with the Jammers Fans Association, the foodbank collection will be held before the league match between Maldon and Tiptree FC and Heybridge Swifts.

Scott Mitchell, a member of the Association, told Nub News: "Since the inception of the Jammers Supporters' Association at the beginning of 2021, we have worked with the club to build strong community ties to promote the club and benefit the community."

The club have requested the following items to be donated to Maldon Food Pantry:

  • Pasta sauce
  • Pasta
  • Jam
  • Meals in a tin
  • Long-life milk
  • Sugar
  • Tinned meat and fish
  • Tinned fruit and vegetables
  • Tea and coffee
  • Biscuits
  • Tinned chopped tomatoes
  • Breakfast cereals
  • Tinned rice pudding and custard
  • Honey, Marmite and Nutella
  • Toiletries

Further events are set for this season, including another Easter egg collection which will take place next year.

Last Saturday, the Jammers lost 2-0 to Tilbury FC as their Isthmian League season got off to a 'stuttering start' and suffered a defeat that Paul Abrahams' side "didn't really deserve".

The team will be hoping to bounce back against another Thurrock side when they travel to Parkside tomorrow (17 August) to face Grays Athletic, who began their campaign with a goalless draw at Coggeshall United.

The Jammers will play in an FA Cup preliminary round in a home match against Harpenden this Saturday.
