A MALDON artist is exhibiting his work at The Maeldune Centre in the attraction's last art exhibition of the year.

The show by local resident George Kowzan at the centre in the High Street will run until Tuesday, November 17, and will be followed by the centre's Christmas market, showcasing a range of art, crafts and local produce for sale.

George's exhibition is called Blackwater Dreaming and includes works created by the artist reflecting this strange year and time he spent at Hythe Quay and The Prom.

Lyrics from songs are also used to provide inspiration for some of the work.

The Maeldune Heritage Centre's Christmas Fair will be open from Friday, 20 November to Wednesday, 23 December. There will be late-night shopping at the centre on Thursday, 26 November from 4pm to 8pm.

A spokesperson for the centre said: "We are very grateful to the artists and craftspeople for the support in what has been a very challenging year for everyone with many events cancelled or postponed, however, rest assured our elves are at work to provide a quality event."
