Emma Wallis of Maldon company Lottie & Jake's Scrumptious Cakes is to hold an Easter cake-decorating workshop in aid of Farleigh Hospice.

Those taking part in the online event, which is part of the hospice charity's spring craft series, will learn how to make nests of eggs and chicks ideal for cupcake decorations, as well as a larger nest of both eggs and a hatched chick as a topper for a larger cake using fondant icing.

Emma will also share the secret of her special buttercream recipe which will be emailed to attendees.

The idea behind the demonstration is that those watching will make their own fondant creations following the event, which will be recorded and sent to them so that they can watch Emma's instruction and tips over and over again to help them perfect their skills.

Emma is selling some of her Easter treats on social media in aid of Farleigh Hospice and these can be found on Lottie and Jake's Facebook and Twitter pages – you can find Emma's Facebook page by using the link here.

The online workshop will take place on Tuesday, 30 March, from 2pm to 3pm with the waiting room opening at 1.45pm.

The event will take place on Zoom and cost £10 per household. It is suitable for adult beginner and advanced, as well as children with some help.

Registration is open now and closes at 10am on 30 March. To book online use the 'sign up' button at the link here or call 01245 457411 or email: fundraising @farleighhospice.org
