Maldon District Council has announced a job vacancy in the Council's Senior Leadership Team, a role paying upwards of £85,000.

The job of Chief Finance Officer is now available and involves reporting directly to the council's new Chief Executive (The Head of Paid Service), Doug Wilkinson.

In this role, the lucky candidate will take the lead on all finance and finance-related services, becoming a leader focused on delivering "financial excellence." They will fulfil the responsibilities of a Section 151 Officer, and lead the council's financial strategy to ensure sustainable budgeting, and oversee key functions.

The council are seeking an accomplished finance professional, with a track record of financial transformation and operational excellence, delivering effective financial planning, being a motivated team leader, and building strong relationships. 

Included in the third highest salary band at the council, alongside Assistant Director of Planning & Implementation, the new Chief Finance Officer will receive a salary between £85,952 to £92,903 annually.

Comparably, the highest council earner receives somewhere between £113,651-£136,519. 

The closing date of this vacancy is Sunday February 16, 2025, with the first round of interviews set to be in early March.
