It has emerged that Maldon District Council (MDC) is putting together a management plan for the Promenade Park in Maldon.

A full meeting of Maldon Town Council (MTC) heard yesterday evening (Monday, 19 July)`that the district council will be formulating a strategy for management of the Prom going forward.

The discussion came about when Councillor Kevin Lagan, who also sits on the district council, pointed to changes at the Prom that seemed to be happening without any consultation.

Councillor Lagan said that the flower bed at the Prom had been removed, adding: "I blinked and it was gone."

He called for better communication about what is happening with the Prom's assets.

Councillor Stephen Nunn, who is also deputy leader of Maldon District Council, confirmed that there will be a management plan for the Prom to allow for better communication.
