Maldon District Council are set to vote on potential Council Tax increases at full council tomorrow, February 13.

Councillors will decide whether to vote with a recommendation to increase council tax by the 2.99% threshold set by the Secretary of State.

The increase would mean that an average "Band D" Property would pay £232.01 in 2025/26, £6.74 more than in 2024/25.

This option would increase the Maldon District Council Tax income by £180,996 to £6,230,487 annually.

A report by the Interim Chief Financial Officer states that if this increase is not approved for 2025/26, then the gap will widen in future years.

The recommendation comes as part of a wider report asking for approval of 2024/25 Revised and 2025/26 Original Budget Estimates.

If you wish to attend, the council meeting will be held at 7.30pm at the Maldon District Council Offices on Princes Road and will be open to the public, or you can watch live online here.
