Maldon district: Police issue appeal in connection with Latchingdon and Althorne burglaries

POLICE have issued an appeal to find a man they want to speak to in connection with a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries in the Latchingdon and Althorne area.

The crimes all took place between 2am and 4.30am on Monday, 5 July.

Property including cash, handbags, wallets and a Dacia Sandero car were stolen. The car was later found.

Anyone who recognises the man in the video with this article is asked to contact Chelmsford CID quoting incident 42/130324/21.

Officers had previously received information regarding a teenage boy in connection with their investigation, but have found no evidence that he is involved he has now been eliminated from enquiries and faces no further action.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "We ask residents to be vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously to us via 999 if a crime is happening now.

"You can also help deter would-be burglars by double locking windows and doors and taking some other simple steps to make your property as burglar-proof as possible."
