As 120* cyclists are expected to ride into Maldon this Friday, for RideLondon Classique, here's how the road closures will affect both locals and visitors.
The road between the top of Market Hill and West Square will be closed all day, from 4am until 8pm.
Between Market Hill and the lower High Street, the road will be open to local access only, from 4am until 10.30am. However, it will be closed completely from 10.30am until 3pm. It will reopen for local access only from 3pm until the road reopens fully at 8pm.
The race starts in Promenade Park at 11am, and will finish at Moot Hall on the High Street, at 3pm.
All bus stops will be relocated to the top of Spital Road.
Butt Lane car park will be accessible via Wantz Road, but there will be no access in or out between 10.30-11.30am.
White Horse Lane and Friary Fields car parks will be available all day, via Fambridge Road, along with Promenade Park car park. Normal charges will apply.
Maldon District Council has assured residents that "access will be maintained at all times for emergency services".
As a result of the cycling event, Plume Academy has moved its planned non-student day from 24 June to this Friday, citing difficulties running a regular day for its 1,700 students with the closures in place.
News of the road closures has been met with frustration on social media.
One user commented: "I'm glad I'm off work for the week! Trying to drive my lorry around on Friday would be a nightmare."
While another said: "I feel sorry for people who planned family events before this disruption was publicised and now find themselves caught up in what is going to be chaos."
Maldon District Council has also arranged a series of activities throughout the town, for families to participate in during the day, including at Promenade Park:
Alternatively, you can escape the RideLondon crowds at the Friary Walled Garden.

*Updated to improve clarity - there will be 120 cyclists competing on Friday, and 25,000 cyclists taking part in the public ride elsewhere on Sunday, not in Maldon
