Maldon Panto Society returns early next year with new and highly anticipated Cinderella performances.

There will be six shows across January, with audience numbers expected to approach over a thousand people.

Maldon Panto Society, an amateur drama group, has members with ages ranging from nine to nearly 90.

MAPS focuses solely on producing quality Pantomimes and "aims to provide Maldon with a traditional Christmas Panto each January".

Next year's 'Cinderella' will mark 30 years of the annual show.

It will also be the debut of their new Junior Chorus group, a group of 17 youngsters from ages nine to 15 who will sing, dance and take on smaller panto roles.

The group is run entirely by volunteers from the community. The dedicated committee includes script writers, choreographers, stage managers, set designers and directors.

'Cinderella' will be performed over two weekends in January:

Friday 12 - 7.30pm

Saturday 13 - 1.30pm & 6.30pm

Saturday 20 - 1.30pm & 6.30pm

Sunday 21 - 1.30pm
