MALDON'S police team are planning events in public places and parks around the town to help them engage with the local community.

Details of the series of engagement events has yet to be announced, but the team is hoping that residents will come along to make their views on local policing known.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "We want you to engage with us and we want to hear your positive comments and also the ones that are constructive on where you feel we may need to improve.

"We will continue to try our best to engage with your communities during this still difficult time, but we need you to join in."

The Maldon team is also reminding residents that Facebook Live events are being held every other Friday evening, where officers will be available to listen to what the community has to say. The next event is to be held on Friday (7 August) between 6pm and 7.30pm on the Essex Police Maldon Facebook page.
