Maldon Police Team has reassured residents that they are still there for the community at their base in the council offices, where the front desk is temporarily closed.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Our Maldon Police front counter is temporarily closed as the shared reception area where it is based is being used as a vaccination centre.

"But that doesn't mean we're not here for the community. Our officers continue to work out of our base at Maldon District Council's offices in Princes Road, and are out on patrol, responding to incidents and engaging with the community."

The team has asked that if you need to contact them, use the yellow police phone outside the council offices, or if you'd like to visit a front counter, the nearest ones are at Braintree and Chelmsford police stations.

You can also contact police via 101, or online via the link here where you can also use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm.

Always call 999 in an emergency.
