Maldon Police Station, at the offices of the district council in Princes Road, has re-opened its doors to the public today (Tuesday, 19 April).
The station was relocated at the offices of Maldon District Council in 2017 after the town's police station in West Square was shut and put up for sale to developers.
However, after the district's Covid vaccination hub was opened at the offices in December, 2020, the front desk for the police station was temporarily closed to help accommodate it - though the local police team continued to use the building.
A spokesperson for Essex Police's Maldon team said: "We are delighted that our police office has re-opened to the public.
"We had to close it during the pandemic because the office was used as part of the town's Covid vaccination centre.
"Our local policing team remained based at the council premises in Princes Road throughout, continuing to help people, keep you safe and catch criminals. But now our police office is to the public 9am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays – with a one-hour break between noon and 1pm. It will be closed on bank holidays.
"Of course, our front counter staff will be pleased to see you again, but remember you can also report crime and anti-social behaviour, or give us information about criminality online."
