Maldon residents will be able to view "iconic" images by Fleet Street photographer Bill Orchard next weekend.

Bill will be at Studio on the Quay in Burnham-on-Crouch on Saturday 28 August and Sunday 29 August to display his work, which includes celebrity pictures dating as far back as 1957 and through the swinging 1960s and 1970s.

Among celebrities he photographed are David Bowie, Lulu, Marc Bolan, Adam Faith and Cilla Black - all pictures will be available to purchase.

Claire Payne, who manages Studio on the Quay, said: "I honestly think that this is something completely new for Burnham, the Dengie and the Maldon area.

"Bill did have a display in one of the galleries in Maldon, but this is the first time in quite a few years that he's actually shown any of his pieces of work.

"So it is just going to be fantastic."

Claire added that the "iconic" images will be available to purchase at Studio on the Quay on the weekend of the exhibition.

Bill was born in 1940 in Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex. He became a major part of the British pop scene in his early 20s, and photographed the bands and signers of the swinging 1960s and 1970s.

He toured alongside many bands, including the Beatles for two years and regularly with the Roling Stones.

His photographs have been displayed around the world.

The studio is next to the Bistro and the Emporium on the Quay in Burnham-on-Crouch.
