Maldon Rotary Club's new President takes up his chain of office

By The Editor 7th Sep 2021

THERE was a handover at Maldon Rotary Club when the new President took his chain of office.

Pictured left, past President Alan Smith handed over the town club's chain of office to incoming President John Williams at the group's July meeting which, due to Covid restrictions, took place in Maldon's Promenade Park.

Both have a long tradition of service to the club and to the local community and are well loved and respected in the club.

Maldon Rotary Club will resume regular meetings in September with a programme of events and fundraising. The club provides support to the local community through fundraising, organising events (such as the fireworks and Santa sleigh) ,assisting other organisations - for example, the Royal British Legion and local schools, including Plume Academy - while enjoying fellowship together.

Prospective members should view the Maldon Rotary website, where details of some of the club's activities may be found.
