The Leader of The Salvation Army in Maldon, Anastasia Layton, joined thousands of runners pounding the streets of the capital for last weekend's London Marathon.

Ana, 23, raised over £4000 for The Salvation Army's work in Maldon and for its work supporting recovering survivors of modern slavery.

In a post on Facebook, she said: "London Marathon 2025 complete.

"The most MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has donated to my fundraising, it has now reached over £4000... over double my original target!"

She added: "Thank you so much to everybody who has been supporting and encouraging me, it was a massive challenge but an unforgettable experience

"Praising God for such an amazing opportunity and experience, and for all the life-changing work that will be done with the money raised."

Ana recently became the new Officer of Maldon Salvation Army Community Church, having been ordained in Summer 2024.
