Maldon & Tiptree Football Club has announced Adam Flint as its new permanent First Team manager, replacing Paul Abrahams after a 'poor run' of results.

Paul Abrahams was dismissed last month, following the Jammers' defeat against Hashtag United. He took over from Wayne Brown as interim manager in January, before officially taking the reins in May.

Adam Flint has previously been 'influential' as part of Wayne Brown's management team. Adam was instrumental in helping the club reach the second and first round of the Emirates FA Cup, in consecutive seasons.

He left the Jammers after the 2020/21 season, before joining the Grays Athletic management team, which narrowly missed out on a play-off spot last season.

"I just couldn't turn down an opportunity like this as it is a club I care about."

Following his appointment, Adam told Jammers TV: "This is probably the only job opportunity I would've taken.

"I'm really pleased to be here - I know the club really well and I know how everything works here.

"I wasn't really looking to get back in, but this is on my doorstep and it's close to work.

"I did speak to Paul [Abrahams] to let him know that I was applying for the role, out of courtesy

As part of his new management team, Adam will be joined by former Jammers striker, James Robinson, who worked with him at both Bishop's Stortford FC and Witham Town FC respectively.

Liam Bailey and Dave Blackmore will stay on as part of the new management team.

Jerry Carter, Chairman of the Maldon & Tiptree FC, said: "We had a high calibre of people apply for the position.

"But from early in the process, Adam stood out and he was someone I was incredibly impressed by.

"He knows the club very well from his time here before and his non-league knowledge and experience will be vital in helping us climb away from the position we currently find ourselves in. I am delighted to welcome Adam and also James to the club and I'm looking forward to working with them."

Adam will see his first match as manager tomorrow (Saturday, October 8), when the Jammers will face Felixstowe & Walton United in the Isthmian League.
