Maldon Town Council has bought new heritage signs to mark the history of the town.

The details emerged during a meeting of the finance and general purposes committee, when members heard that the council had bought three new heritage signs for local venues at a cost of £342.

Councillor Andrew Lay, who is the deputy town mayor and chairman of the committee, said: "This gives a distinct and strong impression of Maldon and its heritage, and the connection between the sites."
